Release Details
If there were any doubts that music has a temperature, or the potential to induce the listener to perceive its temperature, listening to the tracks of the “Antarctica Files” clears those doubts and lets the cold chilled wind enter your own space, no matter where you are.
Recorded in November 2008, the sounds were meant to be used at a theatre play that unfortunately got cancelled.
“Everything was massive and made you feel the smallest entity in the whole world.” tells Fernando Fonseca the man behind the QuarterBit project . “Before arriving I was concerned about the gear, if it would fail (ed.note: like it did more than once), weather conditions, if the small plane was safe. But when confronted with the immensity and greatness of the landscape, the tottally unusual sounds, nothing else really mattered.”
The best way, in our opinion to listen to this release is to put it on your portable player and use your headphones.
Wherever you are, no matter what weather, you will feel the ambience from Antarctica embrancing you.
